Affiliate marketing = frustrating

Failure kind of sucks though.

Failure kind of sucks though.

Wow, affiliate marketing can be really frustrating.  It build you up just to break you down.  In this case I really hope the old addage is true that what doesn’t kill you only make you stronger.

I have started putting to work what I have learned studying the PPC Formula.  Well, it is very apparent I have a lot to learn.  My first real campaign was started yesterday.  It started out well and then just crashed.  Things like this could really get a guy down if you let it.

So after I got done feeling like a total idiot I decided to think about what went wrong.  Here is what I came up with came up with after pondering my failures for a bit:

  1. Though the offer was decent the landing page totally sucked.  I should have taken more time and analyzed more offers.
  2. I bid too much on keywords.  Not much more to say on this one.
  3. More time should have been put into monitoring and tracking the campaign.

On one hand it sucks to fail.  On the other it is something I can live with if I learn from my mistakes.  I am going to study some more and then get back to it.  It is going to take a lot more than a little lost money to make me quit.  I want to be a successful affiliate marketer too bad to do that.

With that said I would really like to find someone to mentor me.

As much as I want to, I haven’t really capitalized on the opportunity presented by affiliate programs. I just can decide which one to start with. I did register with Market Leverage but alas, was rejected.
