WordPress 2.6 Captions Kick Ass!

WordPress 2.6 Captions Kick Ass!

Just to warn you this probably isn’t my last post today. I noticed when I logged into my WordPress admin panel this morning that it was time to upgrade. Usually dread this because I usually expect the worst and just assume my blog will be completely destroyed. As you can see the upgrade was successful and I am really happy with some of the updates in 2.6.

As a rule I typically don’t read ‘whats new‘ stuff on new apps but decided to for some reason. The thing I was most excited to see was image captions. The other day when I was writing a post I was thinking that it would be cool if you could easily add captions to photos. With WordPress 2.6 my dreams have come true. Now I need to figure out how to get a little space between the caption and the rest of the text.

In addition to that, another cool feature is ‘Theme Previews’. Now when you select a new theme you will get a pop-up showing you what your blog will look like with this particular theme. There is quite a bit more plus 149 or so bugs were fixed.

Stay tuned. I am experimenting with buying targeted traffic for a site I just built. Hopefully I have an update on this by the end of the day. It would be great if my day ends in the awesome way it started. I actually won a Shoemoney t-shirt in his comment contest.

I’ve seen a lot of bloggers mention that WordPress 2.6 is now out, but you’re the first I’ve seen to actually install it. I’ll keep on eye on your reports to see how it continues to work out. I’m not going to be among those to upgrade too soon!

I like to live on the edge. Though I upgraded I did make sure to back everything up before doing so. I have yet to experience any of the problems I have seen reported. I will keep you updated.
